Job Description

As a Product Delivery manager, you will be responsible for turning the product roadmap into a reality. As the primary liaison between the Product Manager and the engineering team, you will be accountable for maximizing the delivery of multiple product teams and successfully delivering product releases that align with company and product goals. You will use a variety of agile and lean tools and techniques to help the team keep a delivery and learning cadence, focused on delivering value against the product vision. 

Role Attributes

  • Oversight and delivery of the product roadmap as agreed with the Product Owner Key Responsibilities
  • Work with product owners to define the roadmap for any given product
  • Co-create products with product owners and engineering team, collaborating on communication, product management and high-level product architecture, using appropriate agile methodology, learning and iterating frequently
  • Proactively manage dependencies, and constraints, identify obstacles and blockers, helping the team to overcome them to get the best value
  • Potentially manage risks, budgets, people, third-party engagements and procurements to support delivery
  • Set up the agile environment the team needs to build and iterate a user-centred service, focusing on automation and code generation over status updates and reports
  • Work at a strategic level partnering product owners to manage ongoing product requirements and build out the right team
  • Collaborate and empower the people, facilitating continuous improvement of the team, focusing on value generation, learning and enablement
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with business and engineering team for growth, reporting to a wider organisation
  • Manage delivery to ensure products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production) Key Decisions within the Role
  •  Partnering with the Product Owner on creation and prioritisation with regards to the roadmap and backlog
  • Resource planning
  • Issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Financial authorisation limits as per the Delegation of Authority approved by the Board.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar domain
  • Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory
  • Strong technical knowledge and/or platform knowledge
  • More than 7 years track record in developing and delivering local/regional IT capabilities for a multi-national/regional company with annual budgetary responsibility
  • More than 3 years leadership experience in managing IT delivery teams
  • Experience and business domain knowledge in insurance and/or banking industry preferred
  • Experience in implementing large-scale, highly available applications or other large project implementation
  • Experience in service-oriented technologies
  • Proven result-oriented person with a focus on people management and delivery
  • Experience in actual systems development work, with prior coding, functional specifications and technical specifications and systems development and testing experience (in aggregate no less than 8 years)
  • Good understanding and experience in software development cycle
  • Highly effective communicating with technical stakeholders and vendors, proficient communicating with non-technical sponsors and stakeholders
  • Good problem solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills
  • Complete Fit & Proper assessments successfully on an annual basis at minimum, or when other adjunct appointments are made.
