This is an opportunity to be a part of the Data Office function under the central data & analytics team.  Data Office leads data management initiatives in the organisation and partners with different business units to support their data aspirations.  

We are seeking for an experienced Data Management Lead to manage Income’s data assets. The data management lead will closely work with Business Units, Technology & Data Governance team to execute Income’s data strategy. As the trusted advisor the incumbent will support strategic data initiatives for multiple business units.

Job Description

  • Define, enhance, and maintain enterprise data domains and sub domains. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of Business Glossary and Data Dictionary.
  • Define the operating model for managing metadata in the organisation.
  • Support rollout of self-service BI and data analytics products by collaborating with Analytics teams. 
  • Drive cataloguing of curated data sets to support Business Units data and analytics journey.
  • Collaborate with business & IT teams to build conceptual and logical data models for data lake and BI repositories and play the role of design authority for data models. 
  • Develop and maintain guidelines for data definitions and data documentation. 
  • Collaborate with Technology team to implement technical tools and platforms for operationalizing Business Glossary and Data Dictionary.
  • Train members of the data organisation to use the Business Glossary and Data Dictionary.
  • Define, manage, and oversee the execution roadmap to inventorize critical data assets. 
  • Collaborate with Data Governance team, Data Stewards & Technology Stewards to curate and maintain metadata 

Job Requirement

Experience / Skills

  • Experienced implementing Business Glossary and Data Dictionary in Financial industry (Banking, Insurance etc.)
  • Experienced in implementation of data management processes like Data Quality Management, Master Data Management etc.
  • Experience in data modelling and data repository design for Insurance domain.
  • Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) and ETL processes is essential.
  • Experience in working with metadata management tools like Axon, EDC, Collibra, Experian etc. 
  • Good understanding of Data Governance and Data Management principles. 
  • Good understanding of enterprise applications and data repositories like Data warehouse, Data Lake etc. 
  • Experienced in training business and technology teams on metadata management. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders and vendors to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes. 
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and managing metadata of cloud repositories is added advantage. 
  • Working experience in Insurance sector is added advantage.  


  • 5-8 years’ overall experience in data management disciplines such as Data Quality management, Master Data Management, Business Glossary, Data Lineage etc.
  • Experience in working on at least 2 enterprise scale cross functional data warehousing, data lake and BI projects.
  • Degree in Maths / Statistics / Analytics/ Technology/ Business or a relevant discipline.
